Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SPEK collects from fire-alarm dealers who use the platform, how that data is used, who processes it on our behalf, and what we don't do with it.

What we collect

• Account details. Your name, company, and email address when you create a SPEK account.
• Project documents you upload or create. Engineering plans, device takeoffs, pricing, and proposals you upload or generate while using SPEK.
• Founding Dealer form submissions. Name, company, email, and (optionally) what you're bidding, when you submit the Founding Dealer request form on this site.

How we use it

We use what we collect to:

• Provide the service — run your takeoffs, generate Kidde-priced BOMs, build proposals, purchase orders, and submittal packages.
• Power plan extraction — read the plans you upload so SPEK can count devices and draft compliance content.
• Notify you about your account — trial status, proposal-expiry alerts, and other account notices.

Processors

SPEK relies on a small set of processors to run the service. We share only what each one needs to do its job:

• Firebase (Google Cloud) — hosting, authentication, and the database that stores your account and project data. Hosted in the United States.
• Anthropic — processes the plan documents you upload to extract device counts and draft compliance notes (AI plan extraction). Your plans are not used to train AI models.
• Stripe — processes subscription payments. Stripe receives your name, email, and payment details; we never see or store your card number.
• Resend — sends transactional email, such as password resets, email verification, trial reminders, and proposal-expiry alerts.
• Zoho Mail — hosts the mailboxes behind info@spekengine.com, so anything you email us is stored there.
• Google (Tag Manager and Analytics) — measures how visitors use the marketing site at spekengine.com, so we know which pages are read and where people lose interest.

Cookies and analytics

The marketing site at spekengine.com uses Google Tag Manager to load analytics. These set cookies in your browser that measure page visits and how visitors move through the site. We use this to understand which parts of the site are working, not to build a profile of you.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share this data with advertisers. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site works normally without them.

The application at app.spekengine.com carries no analytics — your project data, plans, and takeoffs are never sent to an analytics provider.

The demo page at spekengine.com/demo shows a product video hosted on YouTube. The page loads an image of the video, not the player: nothing is requested from YouTube, and YouTube sets nothing in your browser, until you press play. When you do, the player loads from youtube-nocookie.com and youtube.com, and Google receives those requests as your video provider. If you never start the video, YouTube is never contacted.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your data, to anyone, for any reason.
• Your dealer cost and margin never appear in anything a client sees. SPEK's proposal engine is built to keep that boundary — clients see one lump-sum price, never your underlying cost.

Retention & deletion

We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active. There is no self-serve account deletion yet: to delete your account and its projects, get a copy of what we hold, or ask anything else about retention, email us at info@spekengine.com and we'll handle it directly, by hand.
